What is a Professional Organizer?
A professional organizer enhances the lives of clients by designing systems and processes using organizing principles and through transferring organizing skills. A professional organizer also educates the public on organizing solutions and the resulting benefits. Professional organizers help individuals and businesses take control of their surroundings, their time, their paper, and their systems for life.

The pantry in my back hall was a disaster area! I could not find things, I would buy more stuff because I could not see what I had and did not have. Since Liz reorganized the back hall and pantry it has been a pleasure to pick out what I need, line up new things and generally enjoy the symmetry and balance of an organized pantry. Thanks Liz!

How does this work?
First, we set up a free 30-minute consultation. I will come to your home, see what your needs are, decide on goals for the project and come up with a plan.

How long does this take?
That depends on the project. For smallish projects 2-4 hours, for bigger projects, such as basements and attics it would probably take a few sessions. Sessions run between 2–4 hours.

Will I have to throw away my stuff?
No. BUT, in order to become organized it is important to sort through things and evaluate them. Often after the initial sorting process you will feel more comfortable and won’t mind releasing some of your things, keeping what is truly most important, useful, and valuable to you.

That said, I am dedicated to preserving family history and heirlooms. As a former museum professional, I have an understanding of preservation and the importance of appropriate storage methods.

What about confidentiality?
As a member of NAPO, I adhere to a Code of Ethics. Confidentiality is of the utmost importance and client information is not shared unless the client has granted permission.

Should I buy supplies?
No, as we go through the process and see what will be kept, stored, etc., supplies can be purchased. Very often we re-purpose things you already have in your home. I can work within a budget and will purchase supplies when and if we need them.

I have seen Professional Organizers on TV — will you do that?
Yes and no. I am not an interior decorator or designer, but I will help you create systems so that your space will be neater and better organized (I can assist with putting up shelves, but I recommend hiring a professional for painting or any other major remodeling tasks). You will not need to remodel your existing space.

How do I keep myself organized once the project has been completed?
My goal is not only to pass along the skills you will need, but also help you to master them. However, some clients do request maintenance sessions or regularly scheduled visits.

What sets Poodle B. Organizing apart from the rest?
I am committed to helping you get and stay organized. I am nonjudgmental and have a warm personality and lots of patience. As a former school teacher (I worked with middle school students) and someone who has worked with many different groups of people, I understand that calling a Professional Organizer can be the first step in getting your home in order. Additionally, my work in the museum industry has provided me with valuable resources and knowledge about proper storage methods. I also offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee.
